This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a primary responder for critical operational incidents, including prolonged downtimes, equipment malfunctions, startup/restart failures, and ongoing defect, scrap, or throughput challenges.
• Be prepared to deploy to any facility in the U.S. or Canada at short notice to evaluate conditions, stabilize operations, and implement corrective measures.
• Serve as the on-site technical authority during escalation situations in collaboration with Plant Managers, Operations Leaders, and Maintenance Leaders.
• Direct root cause analysis efforts and ensure that corrective actions are executed, verified, and maintained.
• Deliver hands-on technical guidance across blow molding, bottle processing, packaging, upstream/downstream equipment, utilities, maintenance, and production systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and controls-related challenges on the manufacturing floor.
• Assist in the implementation of corrective actions alongside plant teams.
• Carry out major preventive maintenance and overhaul tasks.
• Manage blow mold production lines during emergency scenarios.
• Enhance technical expertise through hands-on training sessions for operators and maintenance technicians.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of operator and maintenance technical training programs.
• Recognize recurring problems and systemic issues impacting safety, quality, cost, or delivery.
• Establish standard work, processes, and controls to avert recurrence and ensure sustained improvements.
• Emphasize safety, PPE, environmental, and regulatory compliance during interventions and recovery efforts.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and technical service providers during escalations.
• Facilitate vendor troubleshooting, parts strategy, and post-event analysis.
• Record root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
• Provide executive summaries following significant interventions.
• 6–10 years of experience in a high-output plastics manufacturing setting.
• Strong familiarity with bottle processing operations.
• 5–10 years of practical experience in maintenance and/or production technical roles.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting blow molding systems and downstream bottle processing equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead effectively under pressure during unanticipated operational events.
• Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced environments with incomplete information.
• Willingness and capability to engage hands-on on the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in manufacturing settings.
• Must be available to support manufacturing plants throughout the United States and Canada.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%, often with minimal advance notice.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical recovery phases.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Experience in leading multi-site or organization-wide technical initiatives.
• Preferred: Exposure to budget and cost-management.
• Preferred: Experience in leading cross-functional operations and maintenance teams.
