Mechanical Principal Engineer – High-Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, create new product designs and oversee product extensions focusing on our high-power connector product line.

• Offer technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal personnel.

• Align product activities with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality by utilizing the engineering change request (ECR) procedures.

• Assist in product testing by collaborating with the reliability lab (writing test requests, collecting test samples, boards, etc.).

• Review manufacturing and sales drawings for thoroughness and precision.

• Ensure all products are correctly released with accurate details.

• Construct prototype samples and carry out validation processes.

• Conduct mechanical and thermal simulations.

• Execute other related tasks as assigned by management.

• Lead IP submissions in collaboration with our legal team.

• Travel up to 30% to HQ and customer sites as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Over 5 years of design experience with connector products in 50A+ applications.

• Proficient in solid modeling to create 3D models and 2D drawings (NX).

• Proven ability to analyze information and devise solutions to problems effectively.

• Demonstrated capability to work efficiently within a global team setting.

• Experience with UL and CSA standards.

• Knowledge of data and power interconnects between the power shelf/IT gear and rack-level infrastructure.

• Direct design experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Hyperscaler OEM connector design (e.g., OCP or similar).

• Datacenter cable connectors rated for 50A or more.

• Busbars for applications exceeding 1000A, including liquid cooling solutions.
