This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Conduct mechanical field service activities in a computer-driven environment.
• Collaborate and troubleshoot with engineers.
• Test, install, launch, and showcase BW Converting envelope converting machinery.
• Instruct customers on the operation and mechanical upkeep of the equipment.
• Utilize assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, technical procedures, and specifications to assist in the installation of new envelope converting machines.
• Configure and operate envelope converting machinery to manufacture the customer's product.
• Offer technical and practical solutions to customer inquiries or issues.
• Execute routine and/or emergency mechanical service on company envelope converting machines.
• Serve as a liaison between the customer and the company.
• Prepare and submit required reports.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to less experienced staff.
• An Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related field is mandatory.
• A B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology is preferred.
• A robust mechanical skill set, including knowledge of gear trains, cam and linkage systems, die/knife maintenance and sharpening, bearing and alignment work, and pneumatic systems, is essential for performing various tasks in this role.
• Familiarity with basic web handling and industrial experience, particularly in envelope converting – including die-cutting/blanking, gumming/tacking, seam forming, flap folding, window patching, and count/stack/bundle systems – is advantageous.
• Experience as an envelope machine adjuster, mechanic, or operator on die-cutting, folding, gumming, or seam-forming equipment is highly regarded.
• Proficiency with Giddings & Lewis, Rockwell, and Siemens PLC-controlled envelope lines is a plus, along with a background in machine process control and mechanical timing/registration on servo-driven equipment such as W+D (Winkler+Dünnebier)-style die-cutters, folder-gluers, and seam formers.
