This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the Discipline Lead for our Bay Area team, offering guidance to a skilled group of engineers.
• Oversee the design of Mechanical systems (EOR of contract documents).
• Contribute to the creation of project fee proposals outlining the scope, schedule, and budget needed to execute the work.
• Collaborate with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, and equipment suppliers to coordinate design and scheduling.
• Ensure the maintenance of precise project documentation and design data for permanent project files.
• Assess project staffing needs, troubleshoot issues, and prepare reports.
• Lead client meetings concerning engineering systems while fostering positive client relationships.
• Identify potential clients, support marketing initiatives to attract new clients, and develop future projects with existing clients.
• Guarantee the quality and thoroughness of the engineering design.
• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California.
• 12+ years of relevant experience or proven equivalency of experience and/or education (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience serving as the primary engineering interface with multiple clients, either as a project manager or engineering lead (preferred).
• Familiarity with California Building Codes and pertinent industry standards (ASHRAE, LEED, HCAI) (preferred).
• Strong project planning, management, organizational, and time management skills (preferred).
• Comprehensive understanding of HVAC engineering principles, including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis, and construction documentation design (preferred).
• Proven experience with advanced HVAC systems design and technically complex projects with tight schedules (preferred).
• Experience with Design-Build and other Alternate Delivery methods is advantageous (preferred).
• Background in Plumbing and Fire Protection system design (preferred).
• Experience in sustainable design and certification for high-performance buildings (preferred).
