This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the execution of designated tasks and the creation of drawings and specifications from the initial concept through bid documentation and construction administration.
• Assist in mechanical design across multiple projects, working according to established priorities.
• Responsible for ensuring the technical quality of engineering tasks on assigned projects.
• Aid in the preparation of project-specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Apply judgment and utilize technical engineering practices and techniques to evaluate and resolve encountered problems.
• Participate in project design and coordination meetings.
• Manage communication with all other disciplines to guarantee the incorporation of all relevant information into project requirements.
• The construction administration effort includes engineering site visits, field report documentation, submittal reviews, responses to project RFI’s, and the review of mechanical change order requests, along with coordination with clients, contractors, and subcontractors on assigned projects.
• Perform mechanical field surveys of existing conditions and compile field reports.
• Collaborate and fully coordinate with a multidisciplinary project team of internal and external architects and engineers.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain it; Professional Engineer License is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in new construction, renovations, and/or additions.
• Experience in healthcare facilities, military bases, government buildings and courthouses, research laboratories, central steam and chilled water plants, corrections facilities, and/or site utility infrastructure is highly valued.
• Familiarity with building codes and material design standards.
• Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Trane Trace load calculation software.
• Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment with the ability to excel in collaborative settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective solutions.
• Ability to efficiently meet project deadlines and budgets while maintaining expected quality.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary.
