This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Oversee and direct the creation of Mechanical Engineering documentation.
• Execute intermediate to advanced engineering tasks independently.
• Carry out intermediate to advanced mechanical design activities under the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Conduct intermediate to advanced computations and analyses for mechanical systems.
• Employ Revit software to create drawings and visual aids.
• Review and compose HVAC controls sequence of operations.
• Supervise and guide pre-construction activities.
• Assess existing building conditions and compile technical reports on findings.
• Gather data and other necessary information for construction documentation.
• Develop project design and construction documentation.
• Oversee and guide construction activities.
• Collaborate with the engineering team and closely interact with the project management team.
• Engage directly with clients regarding technical matters.
• Review shop drawings and submissions.
• Address and respond to RFIs.
• Review and finalize punch lists and project closure documents.
• Prepare project progress updates for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain and update the shop drawing and RFI log.
• Manage personal work hours using company tools.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 1 year of mechanical engineering experience.
• Understanding of mechanical system design.
• Familiarity with codes, code analysis, and specifications for mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of DDC controls and monitoring for HVAC systems.
• Understanding of electrical systems associated with HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with fire alarm/protection system devices.
• Proficient in producing drawings and visual aids using Revit.
• Skilled in performing and analyzing load calculations.
• Proficient in using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with excellent organizational skills for file management.
• Detail-oriented and capable of completing assignments accurately.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment through effective communication, organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in an undistracted workspace.
• Capability to select various types of HVAC equipment.
• Ability to create hydronic flow diagrams and specify piping accessories.
• Competence in reviewing and selecting DDC controls monitoring, as well as fire alarm/protection system devices and points lists.
• Adherence to company and site safety protocols.
• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (both technical and non-technical).
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients and occasionally act as the primary point of contact.
• Capable of functioning effectively as part of a team as well as independently with moderate supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective planning and delegation skills.
• Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks at once.
