
Mechanical Engineer 5 β NSSS Piping & Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
β’ Conducts design and analysis of the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) pipe systems following ASME BPVC Section III and relevant regulatory guidelines.
β’ Employs advanced methodologies to engineer NSSS components that meet nuclear industry standards.
β’ Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and other documentation that effectively convey the design and technical aspects of piping components related to NSSS systems.
β’ Directs the assessment of design solutions (such as piping re-routes and support reconfigurations) that meet piping stress criteria.
β’ Offers guidance and mentorship to early career engineers in piping stress analysis and/or pipe support analysis.
β’ A B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from a four-year ABET accredited institution is required.
β’ An advanced degree is preferred.
β’ A PE License in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering is necessary.
β’ Experience as a Certifying Engineer under ASME BPVC Section III is required.
β’ At least 15 years of highly relevant, full-time engineering experience is required.
β’ Experience in the qualification of piping systems, including ball joints, is desirable.
β’ Subject Matter Expertise in one or more of the following areas: engineering design and piping stress engineering analysis within the nuclear sector.
β’ Proficiency in Bentley AutoPIPE or other equivalent pipe analysis software.
β’ Knowledge of ASME Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems (NB/NC/ND-3600) and/or piping supports (NF).
β’ Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
