Mechanical & Electrical Drafter, CAD Drafter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create manufacture-ready electrical cabinet and switchboard drawings, which encompass GA drawings, SLDs, schematic diagrams, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and cable schedules.

• Analyze client-provided design inputs, specifications, sketches, legacy drawings, and equipment lists/BOMs.

• Design functional cabinet layouts, cable management systems, DIN rail configurations, and ensure proper component clearances.

• Conduct self-reviews on dimensions, component part numbers, quantities, ratings, wire tagging, and drawing revisions.

• Comply with applicable Australian Standards (AS/NZS).

• Maintain drawing templates, title blocks, drawing registers, sheet numbering, and formal revision workflows.

• Collaborate with core engineering operations during Australian business hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2+ years of professional drafting experience within a mechanical/electrical manufacturing, switchboard, or control panel setting.

• Proven expertise in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and SolidWorks.

• Proficient in 2D drafting and 3D parametric modeling.

• Familiarity with electrical components, wiring architecture, and cabinet fabrication principles.

• Understanding of relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS) relating to electrical switchboards and control assemblies.

• A dedicated home office setup with reliable, high-speed internet capable of facilitating remote CAD workflows.

• Full availability to overlap 100% with Queensland business hours (8:00 AM–4:00 PM AEST).

• Previous experience working remotely with Australian-based engineering or fabrication teams is preferred.

• A formal qualification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred.

• Experience in generating automated Bills of Materials (BOMs) and wire run lists directly within CAD environments is preferred.

• High accuracy and speed in work.

• Strong proactive communication skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict delivery timelines, and work effectively with minimal supervision.

• Methodical and organized approach with an interest in enhancing drawing standards and suggesting practical assembly improvements.
