
MBSE System Engineer β Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Architectural leadership: Spearhead the development and upkeep of operational, business, system, data, and integration architecture for JTMS utilizing MBSE methodologies and DoDAF/UAF frameworks.
β’ Systems modeling: Create and oversee system models in SysML/UML that encapsulate requirements, workflows, interfaces, constraints, and end-to-end mission threads with comprehensive traceability.
β’ Digital engineering strategy: Propel the adoption of the digital thread, authoritative model repositories, configuration management, and model-driven decision support throughout the program lifecycle.
β’ Solution design: Convert business, operational, and compliance requirements into scalable solution architectures that facilitate COTS/ERP implementation and enterprise integration.
β’ Integration & interoperability: Establish integration patterns, interface specifications, data exchanges, and interoperability requirements among DoD, Service, Agency, and partner systems.
β’ Governance & reviews: Implement architecture governance, modeling standards, technical baselines, and design-review procedures; present findings to senior government and military leadership.
β’ Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with functional, engineering, cybersecurity, test, and program teams to address gaps, risks, and cross-domain dependencies.
β’ Roadmap & transition: Assist in the development of technology roadmaps, transition planning, implementation strategies, and business process reengineering.
β’ U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance or the capability to obtain one (we will sponsor eligible candidates).
β’ 7+ years of experience in designing enterprise, system, or solution architectures for large-scale IT programs in DoD or similar regulated/enterprise environments.
β’ Proven systems-engineering skills: ability to decompose complex systems and model their structure, behavior, interfaces, data, and end-to-end mission/business threads with full traceability β irrespective of any specific tool.
β’ Working knowledge of SysML/UML modeling methodologies in a recognized tool (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw, Sparx EA, Rhapsody, GENESYS, or similar), along with familiarity with architecture frameworks like DoDAF or UAF.
β’ Excellent communication skills, encompassing technical briefings and architecture documentation tailored for executive and senior military audiences.
β’ Willingness and enthusiasm to enhance MBSE and digital-engineering competencies, supported by our digital-engineering community of practice.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline β or equivalent professional experience.
