Math Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the strategy, standards, and priorities for the mathematics of online slot games throughout the product range.

• Guide, mentor, and nurture Game Mathematicians, enhancing their technical skills and judgment while strategically allocating resources across the game portfolio.

• Supervise the creation and approval of slot math models, which includes reel strips, paytables, bonus features, jackpots, progressives, and feature triggers.

• Ensure that game targets—such as RTP, volatility, hit frequency, bonus frequency, prize distribution, and maximum exposure—align with player experience and product objectives.

• Establish uniform practices for mathematical calculations, simulations, model validation, documentation, code review, and verification of implementation.

• Evaluate complex or high-risk game designs and provide final mathematical guidance when significant design, exposure, or regulatory trade-offs occur.

• Collaborate with Game Design, Engineering, and Operations to produce mathematically robust and regulatory-compliant games.

• Enhance reusable simulation tools, math libraries, and development processes to boost quality and efficiency.

• Track market and competitor performance, converting relevant insights into enhanced game mathematics, player engagement, and strategic portfolio decisions.

• Convey mathematical performance, risks, resource requirements, and recommendations to executive leadership.

• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• A major or minor in Mathematics is mandatory.

• Over 10 years of experience in iGaming mathematics or slot game development, with a proven history of launching commercially successful and/or regulator-approved games.

• More than 5 years of leadership experience in managing technical teams, mathematics functions, or game portfolios across various games, markets, studios, or jurisdictions.

• In-depth knowledge of slot mathematics, including RTP, volatility, prize distributions, jackpots, and feature balancing, along with experience in developing, validating, and launching commercially released and/or regulator-approved games across multiple markets.

• Strong business acumen and communication abilities, with a background in managing budgets, resources, priorities, and risks while effectively conveying technical strategies to key stakeholders.

• Proficient in C#, Java, C++, Python, or similar programming languages, along with modern software development practices.

• A solid foundation in probability theory, statistics, combinatorics, expected value analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and game mathematics.
