This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
• Curate and sustain a collection of high-quality, functional performance materials and trims that align with brand positioning and distinguish product features.
• Source seasonal and carry-over fabrics and trims that fulfill design intent, technical specifications, and cost objectives; oversee print development including greige commit, strike-off management, and lab dip approvals.
• Collaborate with mills and suppliers to innovate new materials, construction techniques, and sampling processes that result in differentiated products; nurture and enhance key supplier relationships, including forecasting, costing, and timelines.
• Take ownership of the seasonal materials timeline from start to finish: fabric selection through production readiness, ensuring BOM integrity, coordinating proto yardage, and updating VCM to PDD.
• Keep Centric PLM material records updated with complete and accurate data to support PIM, wholesale workbooks, and DTC channels; conduct seasonal audits to ensure field accuracy and address blank cell issues.
• Oversee material costing and staging; compile mill liabilities; coordinate sample yardage shipments to development factories.
• Validate material test reports; gather and maintain Transaction Certificates; assist with preferred material certification audits (RDS, RWS, GRS, GOTS) in collaboration with the sustainability program lead.
• Aid in the accuracy review of wholesale workbooks for woven materials and technical information each season.
• Engage in the POD team process: BOM reviews, label decisions, and production readiness milestones.
• Educate cross-functional teams about material features, benefits, and seasonal narratives during key milestone meetings.
• Provide support for auxiliary product lines as necessary, maintaining a strong connection to the full seasonal offering.
• Comply with the annual Product Development budget, contributing to topline revenue, margin, and EBITDA objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in a relevant field (Textile Science, Apparel Design, Product Development, or similar).
• 3+ years of experience in materials development and testing within the apparel industry or a related field.
• Proven technical expertise in fabric performance characteristics across wovens, knits, down, and synthetic insulations.
• Established history of successful material commercialization with timely delivery.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Centric preferred) and best practices for data integrity.
• Strong multi-level communication skills and established cross-functional partnerships within a product creation context.
