This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Create and execute Materials or Environmental Licensing Project Plans.
• Develop, implement, and maintain timelines for preparing and securing regulatory approval for licensing submissions.
• Plan, coordinate, and carry out ongoing materials or environmental licensing tasks.
• Draft, review, and submit environmental permit applications in compliance with NRC, NEPA, and EPA standards.
• Organize preparations for meetings, submissions, and engagements with regulatory authorities.
• Collaborate with partner organizations to facilitate materials or environmental licensing efforts.
• Oversee interactions and communications with regulatory agencies.
• Create materials or environmental licensing submissions and execute the licensing strategy.
• Collaborate with design authority or design engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering products that support licensing initiatives.
• Engage in industry groups and forums, applying lessons learned and industry best practices at TerraPower.
• Assist in the development of the Environmental Report for the license application.
• Support the management of interactions with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, other regulatory bodies, and industry groups.
• Report directly to the Sr. VP, Regulatory Affairs.
• Bachelor's degree with substantial experience in the nuclear sector; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Ability and commitment to adhere to stringent quality assurance standards.
• 10-15 years of direct experience in materials and/or environmental licensing.
• 10-15 years of direct experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
• 10-15 years of direct project management experience.
• Strong communication abilities, team-oriented mindset, readiness to operate in a matrix organization, and capacity to lead remote team members.
• Experience collaborating with plant design teams is advantageous.
• Familiarity with advanced reactors is a plus but not essential.
• Self-motivated individual with the capacity to manage deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional.
• High level of trust and integrity, open communication, respect, and a commitment to fostering teamwork.
• Capability to sit for extended durations, bend/stoop, grasp/grip, and perform fine motor tasks.
• Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
• Capacity to perform prolonged repetitive tasks.
• Work requiring visual and auditory focus.
• Ability to navigate stairs, type on a keyboard, and operate in a standard and/or seated environment for over 8 hours a day.
• Willingness and ability to travel 10-30% of the time.
• Must be able to identify U.S. citizenship or national status, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident status for export-control assessment; foreign nationals are subject to U.S. Government export-control regulations.
