Master Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Document, visualize, and clearly articulate the overall technical health and both current and target states of Enterprise Architecture in collaboration with senior leadership.

• Lead the creation of roadmaps for specific domains or functions and link them to the wider Enterprise technology landscape.

• Collaborate with senior technology leaders on technical and business strategies to facilitate strategic decision-making.

• Offer consultation services aimed at enhancing domain technology delivery and operational efficiency.

• Take ownership of and drive the Enterprise Architecture governance process.

• Synthesize research and provide fact-based recommendations to influence decisions made by senior technology leaders.

• Provide thought leadership and foster stakeholder partnerships around the domain's current state, target state, and roadmaps.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and lead architecture collaborations across business, application, data, Cloud/infrastructure, security, integration, operations, and support.

• Research and apply existing, new, and emerging technologies and trends.

• Transform the future-state architecture vision into principles, guidelines, standards, and patterns.

• Identify and communicate solutions for domain challenges, including new products, platforms, and system enhancements.

• Develop and maintain reference materials for technical delivery teams to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture patterns.

• Oversee the planning and design of strategic initiatives that require architectural oversight.

• Comply with risk and regulatory standards, policies, controls, and Company Risk Appetite; escalate any risk-related issues.

• Foster a sense of belonging and represent the M&T Bank brand.

• Maintain internal control standards and promptly implement audit and regulatory points.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 13 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience.

• Proven experience in negotiating, influencing, and achieving alignment with senior technology and business leaders.

• At least 9 years of experience in developing and integrating applications using applicable software architecture principles and patterns.

• Familiarity with architectural frameworks.

• Experience with enterprise architecture tools.

• Skilled in architecture modeling for strategic planning of capabilities within domains.

• Work experience in software engineering, software delivery, and solution architecture.

• A graduate degree in a business or technical discipline is preferred.

• Certification and experience in working with Cloud technologies and vendors are preferred.

• Experience in an Agile environment is preferred.

• Certification in enterprise architecture frameworks is preferred.

• Background in the financial services industry is preferred.

• Experience in three or more technical roles related to banking technical design and roadmap planning is preferred.

• Familiarity with banking, application, data, Cloud and infrastructure, cybersecurity, and integration architecture is preferred.

• Experience in driving and delivering innovation opportunities within banking to senior leadership is preferred.
