This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +3 more countries.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate an international team of Architects specializing in Cloud, Network, Modern Workplace, Microsoft Server & Infrastructure, Microsoft Collaboration, and Linux/Open-Source technologies.
• Establish enterprise architecture as a core organizational discipline and governance practice.
• Implement architecture frameworks, roles, review processes, and ensure stakeholder engagement.
• Set performance objectives, carry out reviews, and support career advancement and certification pathways.
• Promote collaboration across diverse geographies, time zones, and cultures through regular syncs and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Serve as an escalation point and coach for intricate technical and stakeholder-related challenges.
• Maintain a comprehensive view of HBK’s global IT landscape to ensure architectural consistency across all domains.
• Assess business requirements and translate them into project requests and architectural decisions.
• Review and approve designs and standards; preside over the architecture review board.
• Define and uphold infrastructure and cloud architecture roadmaps that align with business strategies and digital transformation objectives.
• Contribute to technology investment planning, prioritization, and the principles of enterprise architecture.
• Ensure architectural decisions address security, compliance, resilience, and total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with FinOps, Asset Lifecycle, Service Management, and Procurement to optimize costs and develop TCO/ROI business cases.
• Guide outsourced managed service providers to guarantee the implementation of standards, security requirements, and strategic objectives.
• Represent the architecture function to senior stakeholders, business units, and external partners.
• Collaborate with Service Management and IT FinOps Management to ensure a seamless transition from design to operations.
• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in a technical IT management role, such as an Enterprise/Team Lead Architect or a similar senior architecture position.
• Several years of direct experience in people management.
• A genuine passion for developing talent and fostering a high-performing, engaged team.
• Extensive technical experience across cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), datacenter, networking, server (Windows, Linux), and client platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Proven success in leading distributed or international teams across various locations and time zones.
• Strong architectural expertise with the capability to translate business strategies into technical directives.
• Experience in managing outsourced/managed service providers and ensuring adherence to architectural and security standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, including budget planning and cost optimization (TCO/ROI).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, matrixed global environment.
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a focus on execution and attention to detail.
• Empathic and adaptable leadership style across culturally diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
• A practical, solution-oriented approach to complex technical and organizational issues.
• Clear articulation of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
• Proficient in written and spoken English (level B2 or equivalent); additional languages are advantageous.
