Marketing Investments Process Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the global Marketing Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) standard-work model across relevant Global Markets zones.

• Lead the phased implementation process, encompassing process design, stakeholder alignment, rollout planning, training, change management, and tracking of adoption.

• Define and uphold the Marketing ZBB operating model, which includes investment intake, prioritization, funding allocation, approvals, decision rights, timelines, inputs, reviews, escalations, and reporting.

• Collaborate with Zone Marketing, Finance, Strategy, and Marketing Operations leaders to ensure ZBB aligns with planning cycles, business priorities, governance, and operating rhythms.

• Develop and enhance ZBB tools, templates, trackers, dashboards, and reporting systems.

• Facilitate investment reviews, manage exceptions, track actions, provide leadership updates, resolve issues, and conduct post-cycle retrospectives.

• Oversee adherence to standard work, submission quality, tool utilization, data completeness, timeline compliance, and readiness of reporting.

• Create KPIs and executive-ready reports detailing investment requests, approved funding, committed spending, actuals, forecasts, variances, risks, and reallocation opportunities.

• Identify process inefficiencies, duplication, data quality challenges, and barriers to adoption; work with operational excellence teams to simplify, automate, and enhance workflows.

• Promote adoption through communications, training materials, playbooks, user guides, FAQs, feedback loops, and continuous improvement practices.

• Serve as the primary process owner and liaison across zones and functions to clarify ownership, address issues, eliminate obstacles, and balance global consistency with zone-specific requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in Marketing Operations, Commercial Operations, Finance, Budget Management, Strategic Planning, Business Operations, or a similar operational leadership role.

• Experience in implementing standard work, governance processes, operating rhythms, or planning frameworks within a complex matrixed organization.

• In-depth understanding of marketing budget management, investment planning, prioritization, forecasting, spend tracking, variance management, and performance reporting.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from design through to implementation, adoption, sustainment, and continuous improvement.

• Strong skills in project management, analysis, and problem-solving.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities among global stakeholders with competing timelines.

• Ability to influence without formal authority and communicate effectively with senior leaders, finance partners, zone marketers, and cross-functional teams.

• Experience in creating or managing dashboards, trackers, templates, process documentation, reporting tools, and leadership updates.

• Direct experience with Zero-Based Budgeting, marketing investment governance, annual operating planning, marketing budget management, or portfolio prioritization is preferred.

• A finance degree or experience in finance-related budgeting, forecasting, accruals, purchase orders, invoice tracking, or spend governance is preferred.

• Familiarity with tools like Smartsheet, Workfront, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is preferred.

• Knowledge of Lean methodology, process mapping, Kaizen/workout facilitation, or continuous improvement tools is preferred.

• Experience in the healthcare industry or commercial marketing is preferred.

• Flexibility to work hours that support global stakeholders is preferred.
