Market Routing Optimization Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of strategies for route planning and enhancing delivery efficiency.

• Drive ongoing improvements in route effectiveness, delivery density, service reliability, and cost per stop.

• Establish and uphold global routing standards, governance frameworks, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Utilize analytics to uncover optimization opportunities across various regions.

• Act as the primary authority on Sysco Routing and Delivery systems.

• Oversee the implementation, upgrades, and enhancements of routing technologies.

• Formulate global best practices for system configuration and usage.

• Collaborate with IT and digital teams to enhance system capabilities and performance.

• Ensure uniform deployment and adoption across operating companies.

• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for intricate routing challenges.

• Train and mentor regional and local teams on optimization tools and methodologies.

• Create playbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to standardize execution.

• Assist with routing system implementation for new market integrations and acquisitions.

• Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to track route performance.

• Analyze routing trends, capacity utilization, on-time performance, and cost metrics.

• Convert data insights into actionable operational enhancements.

• Foster accountability through performance scorecards and a regular review process.

• Collaborate with Transportation leadership to align routing strategies with labor, fleet, and service objectives.

• Work alongside Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Customer Experience teams to optimize the end-to-end delivery process.

• Support sustainability efforts through improved route efficiency and reduced mileage.

• Travel as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.

• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 10 years of experience in Distribution Operations.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Route Optimization and Supply Chain analytics.

• Preferred experience with Sysco sites.

• Prior experience in routing software training is preferred.

• Proficient in Routing Optimization/Planning Software.

• Familiarity with Driver Electronic Logging Devices.

• Experience with Proof of Delivery/Delivery verification systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with Microsoft Access.

• Strategic thinker capable of operationalizing initiatives.

• Ability to effectively engage with personnel at all levels within the organization.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence leaders.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Highly self-motivated individual.
