Market Development Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing the most promising new market and product opportunities for Leap’s virtual power plant (VPP) technology platform.

• Building relationships and exploring expansion opportunities with Utilities, Retailers, and other purchasers of energy, capacity, and ancillary services in North American markets.

• Collaborating with internal teams, as well as clients and partners, to ensure successful market entry.

• Monitoring market trends to pinpoint future opportunities and enhance Leap’s footprint in both established and emerging markets.

• Organizing market and product data to provide insights to our Product, Engineering, and Operational teams for platform development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in wholesale electricity markets, policy, utility demand response programs, and/or new market entry, or working with Distributed Energy Resources.

• Ability to analyze and synthesize complex policies and market regulations, effectively communicating key concepts to diverse stakeholders.

• Proficient in policy analysis, market research and evaluation, and/or data analysis.

• Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects efficiently.

• Nice to haves:

• Experience with North American, Japan, the UK, and/or European markets.

• Opportunity-focused and enjoys working cross-functionally within an organization, while also being completely capable of working independently.

• Background in tracking and advocating in regulatory proceedings within the energy sector.

• Experience working in remote or hybrid settings across time zones, demonstrating the ability to excel in distributed teams through asynchronous communication, effective time management, and sustained productivity and engagement.
