This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough onboard surveys and inspections to guarantee that vessels comply with all regulatory, safety, and technical standards.

• Create and present detailed inspection reports that highlight areas for enhancement and ensure that corrective actions are executed.

• Act as the main contact for vessel crew, owners, and external authorities, including AMSA and maritime regulatory agencies.

• Evaluate the condition of ship structures, machinery, and safety systems, offering expert advice to stakeholders.

• Maintain adherence to international and local maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and AMSA requirements.

• Represent FMC International with professionalism in all interactions and guarantee the delivery of high-quality service.

• Work in partnership with technical teams and provide specialized guidance to clients regarding vessel repairs, maintenance, and operational best practices.

• Keep abreast of evolving industry standards, regulatory updates, and advancements in maritime technologies.

• Assist in incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and provide recommendations on corrective actions to prevent future incidents.


⛳️ Requirements

• Chief Engineer or Master Mariner License: Must possess a Chief Engineer's License or Master Mariner license, unlimited, issued by a recognized maritime authority.

• Experience: At least 15 years of maritime experience, including a minimum of 2 years as a Chief Engineer or Master Mariner.

• Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, and ISPS codes.

• Familiarity with classification societies, flag state requirements, and AMSA regulations.

• Surveying Experience: Previous experience in conducting technical inspections, surveys, or audits of vessels is preferred.

• Physical Requirements: Capability to perform physical onboard inspections, which may include climbing, entering confined spaces, and working in various environmental conditions.

• Certifications: STCW endorsements, advanced maritime safety training, and other relevant maritime certifications are advantageous.
