Managing Engineer – Software Development, Container Workloads

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of software engineers.

• Design and implement reference architectures, sample applications, and reusable implementation patterns.

• Collaborate with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to tackle real-world engineering challenges.

• Provide technical guidance for architecture, design reviews, and implementation choices.

• Advocate for engineering best practices concerning scalability, resilience, security, and maintainability.

• Enhance understanding of platform dependencies such as caching, messaging, networking, identity, and observability.

• Promote the adoption of reusable patterns and standards across engineering teams.

• Engage in coding, prototyping, and troubleshooting activities as necessary.

• Oversee staffing, prioritization, delivery planning, and team performance.

• Shape engineering standards and platform adoption throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience developing enterprise-scale applications and services.

• At least 2 years of experience in technical leadership, team management, or people management (or equivalent experience).

• Proficient in Java with a background in building distributed applications and services.

• Experience in developing cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Familiarity with container technologies and Kubernetes-based deployments.

• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and service integration patterns.

• Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, or asynchronous processing frameworks.

• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.

• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence engineering decisions.
