Managing Director, Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive underwriting decisions from start to finish, beginning with an evaluation of preliminary underwriting data and tools.

• Mentor and develop Underwriting Consultants and Senior Consultants.

• Address additional underwriting needs by assessing value, placing orders, and reviewing to facilitate risk selection.

• Conclude cases and perform second-sign responsibilities as required.

• Exhibit reliability, organizational skills, and sound judgment by following schedules and achieving all productivity, quality, and performance benchmarks.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10 - 12+ years of experience in Life Insurance Underwriting with demonstrated expertise in underwriting processes and principles.

• 5+ years of experience in team management within an Underwriting role.

• Capability to make advanced decisions with significant authority without the need for a co-signature (for amounts of $15 Million or more).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships both internally and externally.

• Critical thinking abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to swiftly identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing similarities or differences, and spotting changes in circumstances or events.

• Proficiency in interpreting information for others; translating or clarifying the meaning of information and its potential applications.

• Skill in setting specific goals, planning, and prioritizing tasks.

• Bachelor's Degree.

• Experience with BGA and Trials is preferred.

• Completion of FALU, CLU, FLMI, or other insurance-related coursework.
