This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more states.
• Oversee the finance and operations department at Village Capital, ensuring financial health, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Design and execute automated systems and processes for the precise and timely collection, analysis, and reporting of financial data.
• Supervise the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, dashboards, projections, investment and grant pipeline data, as well as financial performance monitoring.
• Manage year-end closing, annual budgeting, financial planning, audits, tax submissions, and program-specific audits.
• Formulate and execute cash strategies, manage both restricted and unrestricted assets, and oversee fiscal sponsorships, re-grants, and pass-through funds.
• Create financial models, pricing strategies, and budgets for products and services.
• Build and manage an integrated back office to support re-grants, direct investments, and investment frameworks.
• Assist in the development of investment vehicles and the ongoing administration of funds.
• Maintain internal controls, regulatory compliance, investment tax oversight, corporate governance, contracts, legal services, recordkeeping, and regulatory filings.
• Direct IT strategy, manage the technology budget, and oversee IT personnel.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and statutory regulations across operating countries, including GEO/PEO relationships and international payroll.
• Build and lead teams in finance, fund administration, and human resources.
• Supervise banking operations, third-party finance providers, procurement, contracting, systems, and administrative processes.
• Support the CEO and Board Treasurer, co-lead the Board Finance Committee, prepare meeting materials and reports, and present quarterly financial outcomes.
• Design, manage, and enhance Village Capital’s business and revenue diversification strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of experience in financial management.
• Proven experience with highly diversified revenue streams and investment management.
• A minimum of 2–3 years in a senior managerial position.
• Experience in supervising teams and third-party providers.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to develop and implement effective finance and grant-reporting systems.
• Experience in collaborating with diverse teams to streamline financial systems for a complex business model.
• Expertise in accounting, financial planning, and operations management.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in constructing financial projections and financial models.
• Strong technological skills, including data management and financial software proficiency.
• Familiarity with human resources operations, organizational development, compensation structures, performance management, and employment compliance.
• Ability to critically engage with AI use cases, their limitations, and the development of firm-wide AI policies.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting financial and operational concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA credentials preferred.
• A proven track record in fundraising and managing complex external stakeholder relationships is preferred.
• Experience in raising pre-seed, seed, or Series A funding is welcomed.
