This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +7 more states.
• Assist in steering the strategy, development, and expansion of Ankura’s Enterprise Data Platform capabilities.
• Define the technical vision, reference architectures, delivery methodologies, and engineering standards for cloud-based data platforms.
• Provide oversight at the executive level for the design and development of enterprise data platforms across various clients and projects.
• Guide architectural decisions related to cloud infrastructure, data integration, data modeling, governance, security, analytics, automation, and AI enablement.
• Create reusable accelerators, methodologies, and intellectual property to enhance delivery quality, speed, and scalability.
• Foster and sustain trusted relationships with C-suite executives, business leaders, and senior technology stakeholders.
• Advise clients on enterprise data strategy, platform architecture, technology selection, operating models, investment priorities, and transformation roadmaps.
• Manage and expand a portfolio of business across multiple clients and engagements.
• Identify opportunities and enhance existing client relationships.
• Lead business-development efforts, including opportunity qualification, solution development, proposal preparation, pricing, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Represent Ankura’s Digital Transformation practice through executive relationships, industry forums, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership.
• Provide executive sponsorship and delivery oversight across a portfolio of complex data-platform programs.
• Ensure that engagements are properly scoped, staffed, governed, and aligned with client objectives and contractual commitments.
• Oversee large-scale data integration and platform implementations utilizing Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and similar platforms.
• Direct data orchestration and integration strategies leveraging Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Informatica, and other enterprise tools.
• Monitor engagement economics, delivery quality, resource utilization, risks, timelines, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure platforms fulfill expectations for scalability, reliability, security, governance, performance, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
• Proactively resolve significant technical, delivery, commercial, or client relationship challenges.
• Build, lead, and develop multidisciplinary teams of data architects, data engineers, data scientists, technical leads, and delivery professionals.
• Recruit and retain top-performing professionals across onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery teams.
• Define roles, career paths, competency expectations, and development plans for technical team members.
• Mentor senior leaders and create opportunities for enhanced client, commercial, and delivery responsibilities.
• Encourage collaboration among data engineering, data science, analytics, automation, AI, business transformation, and change management.
• Develop scalable staffing and delivery models that support practice growth, quality, and financial performance.
• Typically 12–15+ years of experience in data engineering, enterprise data architecture, analytics, or related technology consulting, with substantial senior leadership responsibility.
• Proven track record in leading the design and delivery of enterprise-grade cloud data platforms and large-scale data transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in managing and expanding a significant consulting business across multiple clients.
• Established history of developing executive client relationships, originating opportunities, and transforming those opportunities into successful engagements.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise data architecture, integration, data modeling, governance, metadata management, data quality, security, and cloud-platform principles.
• Strong experience with data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or similar technologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of ETL, ELT, and orchestration technologies like Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Informatica, or similar platforms.
• Ability to link data-platform investments to business strategy, operational enhancement, financial performance, and measurable value realization.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent engagements, delivery teams, and client relationships.
• Established ability to recruit, organize, mentor, and develop high-performing technical and consulting teams.
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience with engagement economics, pricing, contracting, resource planning, and risk management.
• Executive-level communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong business sense, entrepreneurial mindset, and results-oriented leadership approach.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field is required.
• Experience leading geographically distributed, multi-team, or multi-vendor delivery models is strongly preferred.
• Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, generative AI, real-time data processing, or AI-enabled enterprise solutions is preferred.
• Relevant cloud, data-platform, or architecture certifications are advantageous.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
