This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Oversee the design and execution of systems, processes, and culture that drive Nura’s strategic growth and daily operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Meliore operational functions and teams to ensure collective delivery excellence, promoting alignment, teamwork, and efficiency.
• Build and lead a team focused on practical execution, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Partner with the Executive Director as part of the senior leadership team to engage in strategic and operational planning, ensuring that strategy, budgeting, and performance are closely aligned.
• Maintain operational accountability for Nura’s budget, financial reporting, and the financial perspective on strategy formulation.
• Act as a forward-thinking architect for Nura’s operational framework, developing capabilities that support global network expansion and agility.
• Innovate and transform systems and work methodologies to adapt to the evolving needs of Nura and its global operational context.
• Guide the team through periods of growth and change, nurturing a culture that is resilient, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Meliore leadership team to enhance Nura’s governance structures, including sourcing and managing advisors with a diverse skill set that aligns with our strategy.
• Work alongside the Director of Partnerships to create and uphold outstanding funder engagement and reporting systems.
• Partner with our Director of MEL to establish systems for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, delivering insights that fuel ongoing improvement.
• Assist the Movement/Ecosystem Director and the wider Nura team in creating a premier community of learning and practice, focused on knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and sourcing innovative ideas from the global strategic communications ecosystem.
• Cultivate a healthy, inclusive, and empowered team culture that balances accountability with trust, safety, and innovation.
• Eliminate silos and outdated practices, promoting collaboration and high performance throughout the team and the broader Meliore network.
• Advocate for a culture of accountability and excellence at every level of the organization.
• Extensive senior leadership experience, with a strong operational grasp of finance, HR, IT, legal, and other key functions in mission-driven or complex global organizations.
• Proven track record in scaling operations, particularly in systems design and development, leading change initiatives, and building high-performing, distributed teams.
• Experience in managing complex global networks and fostering operational alignment across various teams and functions.
• Master integrator with exceptional judgment, decisiveness, and the ability to adapt as necessary.
• Outstanding communicator and relationship builder, capable of inspiring trust and alignment among diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a builder’s mindset, willing to engage hands-on when required.
• Composed, clear-headed, and solutions-oriented in the face of complexity and change.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English, our working language.
