
Managing Counsel, Commercial – Partnerships

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Formulate, draft, and negotiate intricate partnership agreements, including embedded services, channel/reseller agreements, and referral programs.
• Collaborate closely with Partnerships, Sales, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to design and evaluate partnership agreements that align with business goals while minimizing legal and operational risks.
• Create and enhance templates, playbooks, processes, and other knowledge resources related to partnership transactions.
• When bandwidth allows, act as an additional legal contact for EMEA sales, working alongside existing regional counsel to review, redline, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Offer legal training and support to Partnership and other go-to-market (GTM) stakeholders, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively navigate complex commercial challenges.
• Approach every negotiation with a solutions-oriented mindset, reducing obstacles and resolving issues without unnecessary escalation.
• Experience with partnerships and embedded/reseller/channel agreements is essential.
• Proficiency in supporting commercial transactions, particularly enterprise-level SaaS agreements and global sales support.
• Previous experience in the HR Tech industry or familiarity with tailored HR services agreements is advantageous, though not mandatory.
• Strong commercial drafting abilities are crucial for this role, with the capacity to create clear, precise, and enforceable partnership frameworks that safeguard Remote's interests while facilitating growth through partners.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the capability to devise innovative, practical solutions for complex commercial and business challenges.
• Keen commercial instincts and strategic thinking, focused on driving business success while effectively navigating legal complexities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data protection laws, particularly GDPR, is vital for overseeing partnership data flows.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining responsiveness and adaptability under pressure.
• Strong aptitude for independent work while effectively collaborating with Partnerships, Finance, Product, and other functional teams.
• Exceptional ability to build trusted relationships with Partnership and other GTM stakeholders while exercising independent legal judgment.
• You recognize when to be flexible and when to firmly push back against unreasonable requests, consistently acting as a strategic business partner rather than a bottleneck.
