This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee CIEE’s existing collaborations with study abroad personnel, faculty, and other administrators at partner institutions to enhance enrollments and overall revenue.
• Collaborate with institutional partners to boost student enrollment in study abroad programs.
• Establish and nurture new connections with Study Abroad Office staff, faculty, and other administrators within your portfolio.
• Work together with study abroad partners to elevate CIEE’s brand visibility and strengthen relationships with all institutional influencers and stakeholders beyond the study abroad office.
• Partner with institutions to increase and diversify participation in study abroad.
• Serve as the main CIEE representative for all institutions in your portfolio, engaging through regular phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
• Organize and facilitate student-oriented activities, faculty meetings, staff training sessions, and other outreach initiatives as assigned.
• Represent CIEE at study abroad fairs, pre-departure orientations, and other institutional engagements across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Institutional Relations to strategize and execute an annual plan to meet objectives.
• Work with various internal departments to leverage their expertise for customer support and sales discussions with key institutions.
• Represent CIEE at national and regional professional gatherings, including NAFSA, Forum, and CIEE’s annual conferences.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all interactions with institutions within the designated portfolio and manage institutional profiles in the CRM system (SalesForce).
• Achieve proficiency in data visualization software to drive evidence-based partner support, strategy, and decision-making.
• Contribute to marketing strategies for assigned institutions and conduct market research as needed.
• Appropriately manage personal travel budget.
• Be prepared for uneven hours that may extend beyond the typical 9-5 schedule.
• Extensive seasonal travel may be necessary, potentially 2-4 days per week during two separate 2-3 month periods aligned with the Fall and Spring college semesters.
• Approximately 95% of travel is domestic, with 5% being international.
• Achieve individual and team targets for enrollments and approved programs.
• Additional goals will be assigned, both seasonal and annual, which will be regularly evaluated and adjusted. Other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
• High energy, positive attitude, proactive approach, team-oriented, and capable problem-solver.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in consultative sales of intangible products or services.
• Preferred experience includes sales to or within higher education institutions, personal study abroad or international experiences, and a background in international education.
• Proven consultative sales skills with a track record of meeting targets.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues fairly, promptly, and cost-effectively while maintaining relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, including superior written, verbal, public speaking, and phone abilities.
• Strong organizational and administrative capabilities, ensuring effective coordination of various activities.
• Familiarity with U.S. academic institutions and their culture is essential.
• Ability to thrive in a complex institutional environment, exhibiting high tolerance for ambiguity, flexibility, and responsiveness to changing circumstances.
• Proficiency in daily computer use, including the Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to adopt technology for improved performance.
• Experience with MS Excel is required.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time.
• Demonstrated interest in higher education is preferred.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.
