Manager, Strategic Sourcing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Responsible for overseeing, guiding, and directing the functional duties within a designated area of responsibility.

• Facilitate ministry-level or enterprise-wide functional strategies to address both internal and external business and regulatory challenges.

• Offer functional expertise and ensure the achievement of performance and service standards.

• Accountable for consistent operational performance and meeting financial objectives.

• Identify, define, and resolve complex issues that influence the management and direction of the organization.

• Collaborate with Service Areas, Regions, and Health Ministries to ensure alignment and integration of strategies and operations, while staying updated on new industry developments and standards.

• Provide decision support and lead operations or optimization efforts.

• Direct strategic sourcing activities for intricate initiatives aimed at achieving significant cost reductions, complemented by ongoing cost and productivity enhancements in the total cost of goods and services procured, while maintaining or improving product quality and vendor service levels.

• Foster business relationships with suppliers and Trinity's group purchasing organization (GPO).

• Promote system compliance by maximizing the use of national group purchasing, custom group purchasing, and Trinity Health system agreements.

• Conduct business reviews with key suppliers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, supply chain management, data science, or a clinical discipline.

• A minimum of seven (7) years of sourcing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles and practices, with a proven ability to conduct financial analysis.

• Extensive knowledge and skills in advanced data analytics and procurement practices, including intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar applications, vendor relationships, and market trend analysis.

• Familiarity with Lean principles and technical problem-solving techniques.

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to clearly and concisely communicate complex findings.

• Proven ability to establish and sustain productive and positive working relationships with all stakeholders and external suppliers.

• Competence in addressing conflicts, alongside a willingness and desire to challenge conventional thinking across all organizational levels, including senior management.

• Ability to comprehend customer and stakeholder businesses at financial, operational, and business impact levels.

• Proactive in identifying potential issues and developing viable solutions.

• Strong analytical skills, including the capacity to construct and perform multiple complex analyses (e.g., Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Economic Value to Customer (EVC), Net Present Value (NPV)) concurrently.

• Ability to interpret the implications of analyses into initial recommendations.
