Manager, Software Engineering, Fullstack – Repayment UX Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a diverse team of engineers by establishing clear expectations, providing direct feedback, and nurturing each engineer's growth towards their next level.

• Take ownership of the team's technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap.

• Empower your tech lead and engineers to maintain high standards in design and quality.

• Be responsible for the availability, reliability, and performance of critical consumer systems, including on-call duties, incident response, and minimizing operational toil.

• Ensure the team continues to deliver in small increments by breaking down larger programs into manageable sprint-sized milestones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 3 years in managing and developing engineering teams.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering consumer-facing software and navigating execution amidst uncertainty.

• Proven ability to manage performance directly by establishing clear expectations, offering candid feedback, and guiding engineers toward achieving results and growth.

• Possess the technical judgment necessary to influence architecture, quality, and reliability decisions.

• Experience leading substantial technical initiatives from start to finish, ideally involving decoupling or re-platforming of consumer-facing systems.

• Familiarity with modern full-stack development, including declarative UI frameworks such as React or React Native, alongside a backend-for-frontend architecture.

• Maintain a calm and decisive demeanor in the face of change and ambiguity.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
