This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead and expand a software engineering team, which includes hiring, mentoring, and developing team members.
• Oversee both onshore and offshore engineering personnel.
• Provide technical guidance on architecture, design, construction, documentation, and testing for the data and analytics platform and its products.
• Collaborate with Product to establish a shared vision and drive continuous improvement across the platform and various products.
• Own the data and analytics roadmap, overseeing the strategy through the technical execution of scalable platform and product launches.
• Contribute to product roadmaps, sprint planning, and release scheduling.
• Facilitate grooming sessions and assist the team in estimating efforts.
• Remain actively involved in coding, data modeling, code reviews, quality documentation, and upholding technical standards.
• Adhere to agile SDLC, data architecture, engineering best practices, and governance protocols.
• Deliver fixes and service packs in a consistent and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with security leadership to comply with corporate data security standards.
• Take ownership of software and data quality KPIs, emphasizing release frequency and engineering confidence.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors for tools, outsourcing, and consulting services.
• BS/MS in Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with data and analytics technologies, along with cloud-native data architecture design and best practices.
• Over 10 years of experience in technical roles.
• More than 7 years of experience in people management and leading increasingly complex projects to successful delivery.
• At least 7 years of experience in designing and maintaining data architecture, data models, and standards for data integration and warehousing.
• A minimum of 7 years programming experience in web, object-oriented, or functional environments.
• Strong foundation in enterprise and cloud-native BI architecture.
• Proficient with Git and team branching strategies.
• A comprehensive understanding of data architecture, ETL, security, performance, and analytics.
• Experience in building highly scalable, data-driven SaaS applications in close collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Practical experience with Azure or AWS.
• Hands-on experience in developing data and analytics products using Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake, feeding reporting tools such as Power BI with real-time or near-real-time synchronization.
• Familiarity with release and deployment processes.
• Proven experience in leading remote teams across multiple time zones.
• Strong delegation skills and experience in Agile/Scrum leadership.
• Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, or Snowflake/SnowPro are advantageous.
