Manager, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Activations engineering team tasked with the technical efforts that facilitate the launch of new clients.

• Align team objectives, workflows, and decision-making processes with overarching organizational aims.

• Mentor, develop, and assist engineers by providing consistent feedback, conducting performance discussions, and offering day-to-day technical advice.

• Design, direct, and evaluate systems within the team's purview while also contributing production-level code.

• Assess code and technical designs to uphold high quality standards.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management to convert intricate product requirements into actionable technical strategies.

• Track quality, reliability, and platform health to ensure the team makes informed technical investments.

• Foster a work environment where engineers can approach challenges with a product-oriented mindset.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a solid hands-on technical background.

• 2+ years of experience in a technology leadership position, demonstrating a history of building and guiding effective teams.

• Extensive experience with modern software engineering in areas such as TypeScript, Node.js, Python, API development, event-driven systems, and relational databases like Postgres.

• Proficient in system design and architecture.

• Experience in developing backend services and APIs, with a thorough understanding of REST APIs and microservice architectures.

• A leadership approach focused on elevating standards through code reviews, technical mentorship, and collaborative efforts.

• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.

• Adaptability to operate in a dynamic environment where priorities may change.
