Manager, Site Reliability Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead and provide support to a global team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) who manage and support Linode IAM services.

• Oversee and mentor SRE engineers to enhance their skills and professional growth.

• Assist team members in overcoming technical and procedural challenges.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend and influence the product roadmap.

• Propel technical and product innovation through design thinking, system analysis, and the development of solutions.

• Facilitate and function within an Agile framework to advance SRE activities.

• Foster collaborative and effective working relationships built on commitments, accountability, and trust.

• Contribute to internal research practices, methodologies, and best practices.

• Analyze system performance and reliability alongside Site Reliability Engineers.

• Create and oversee tooling and software that enhances the reliability, scalability, security, and usability of Cloud IAM applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Proven experience in SRE or Development roles with large-scale distributed systems.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams.

• Experience in building with cloud-native technologies and managing cloud deployments at scale.

• Proficiency with container runtimes such as Docker.

• Skilled in Go, Python, or Bash scripting.

• Familiarity with software development practices and product life cycles encompassing build, test, deploy, and iterative environments.
