Manager, Retirement Relationship Management

📋 Description

• Responsible for overseeing a team of Relationship Managers as they strengthen current retirement business relationships and create new revenue-generating opportunities.

• This role serves as a mentor and coach to ensure that retirement Relationship Managers provide comprehensive financial guidance to Alerus retirement clients and act as their trusted primary contact.

• It requires leading, coordinating, and monitoring the efforts of the Relationship Managers as they collaborate with product subject matter experts and support staff to guarantee efficient resource utilization in meeting client needs.

• Additionally, this position involves managing a personal portfolio of retirement relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

• Guide, mentor, coach, and evaluate the overall performance, development, and recognition of retirement business advisors both individually and collectively.

• Actively engage in establishing career goals and pathways for Retirement Relationship Managers.

• Ensure the effective use of CRM software for tracking opportunities and maintaining client communications and follow-up requirements.

• Efficiently manage, analyze, and expand a portfolio of retirement plan clients to offer knowledgeable advanced solutions through exceptional service, product expertise, and support.

• Address the financial needs of retirement business clients holistically across all Alerus solutions.

• Proactively seek new retirement business opportunities with existing clients during the plan review process.

• Utilize advanced investment knowledge, including insights into markets, basic economic data, asset classes, models, CIFS, and target date funds.

• Actively share and apply technical knowledge of ERISA and the retirement plan industry with clients and intermediaries while performing regular plan, investment, and service reviews.

• Participate actively in strategic planning with the ARB leadership team to improve processes, procedures, and service models for maximum efficiency.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, including five or more years in progressive management roles.

• At least eight years of experience in retirement plan/ERISA.

• Possession of professional financial services accreditation(s) or advanced professional training such as QPA, CKA, CFP, CFA, CPA, CWS, or MBA.

• Proficiency in assessing client financial needs and making proactive recommendations.

• Dedicated to developing, coaching, empowering, and effectively communicating with staff while continuously enhancing leadership skills.

• Experience using CRM software to track and manage sales opportunities.

• A proven track record of client service and sales capabilities.

• Ability to present professionally to clients with varying levels of knowledge.

• Strong written and oral communication skills, along with excellent organizational and client service abilities.

• Capacity to maintain professional working relationships with both internal and external clients.

• Capability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Proficiency in interpreting documents and resolving technical issues.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
