Manager, Quality System Compliance Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Plan, lead, and/or conduct second-party QMS audits across RTX sites.

• Ensure compliance with 91XX and ISO series standards, as well as RTX and business-unit policies and procedures, regulatory, and customer requirements.

• Undertake lead-auditor duties, including audit planning, acting as the audit team's representative with site leadership, conducting opening and closing meetings, and daily debrief sessions.

• Ensure that processes, products, and services adhere to internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

• Prepare and issue comprehensive audit reports detailing findings and non-conformances.

• Review and approve effective corrective actions and verify their successful implementation.

• Support RTX certification bodies during site surveillance and recertification audits.

• Manage audit schedules, logistics, and the closure of corrective actions.

• Assist with audit-related special projects.

• Analyze audit performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Utilize historical and current performance data for audit preparation and planning.

• Collaborate with regional EQA leads and the Operations Excellence lead to sustain the audit schedule.

• Cultivate relationships with functional and business leaders to further quality objectives.

• Participate in weekly Corrective Action Review Board meetings.

• Assist with special audits, independent assessments, and site certifications.

• Travel approximately 70% domestically and internationally, which may include weekend travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• University Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.

• At least 8 years of experience in quality assurance, including a minimum of 5 years in QMS auditing within the aerospace, space, and defense sectors.

• Knowledge of 91XX series and ISO9001 standards.

• Current AATT (Aerospace Auditor Transition Training) Certification; proof required.

• Capability to obtain certification within one year as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA).

• Must be able to acquire and maintain a secret U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Active and existing security clearance required from day one.

• Current authenticated Lead Audit certification is preferred.

• Certification as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) is preferred.

• Experience in planning and coordinating multiple audits simultaneously is preferred.

• Familiarity with ETQ/BU Corrective Actions processes/systems is preferred.

• Proficiency in presenting audit results and concepts to key stakeholders and executive management is preferred.

• ASQ Certification (CQA, CQE, CMQ/OE) is preferred.

• Existing Secret Security Clearance is preferred.

• CORE certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with audit management software and tools is preferred.

• Ability to work effectively without direct supervision is preferred.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are preferred.

• Willingness to travel 70% domestically and internationally.
