This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic and operational oversight for Vericel's Burn Care Medical Science Liaison team.
• Lead the implementation of Burn Care Medical Affairs education, publication, and research brand plan strategies.
• Establish priorities, objectives, and performance expectations in alignment with Medical Affairs and corporate goals.
• Act as a resource for workflow processes, Veeva MedComms data input and analysis, IST grants, publications, and educational programs.
• Assess organizational effectiveness and suggest enhancements.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, retain, and evaluate a geographically distributed MSL team.
• Monitor field activity, productivity, quality, field coverage, workload distribution, and customer engagement.
• Convert field medical insights into actionable recommendations for evidence generation, publication planning, medical education, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of burn care, cell therapy, regenerative medicine, competitive treatments, and emerging scientific developments.
• Provide direct field medical support in specific geographies as business needs dictate.
• Cultivate scientific relationships with KOLs, investigators, burn centers, and healthcare professionals.
• Guide external scientific engagement strategies and represent Vericel at meetings, advisory boards, and medical congresses.
• Support strategic external partnerships in the field of burn care.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Medical Communications, Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, and Clinical Operations.
• Ensure compliance with Vericel, PhRMA, MSLS, and FDA guidelines.
• Oversee the quality and consistency of field medical documentation and scientific exchanges.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc field activity reports.
• Assist in medical planning, publications, investigator-sponsored research, and scientific communications.
• Analyze medical insights, competitive intelligence, and marketplace trends.
• Develop performance metrics and dashboards demonstrating the impact of field medical efforts.
• Foster continuous improvement in Medical Affairs processes, field operations, and organizational effectiveness.
• Recommend organizational and resource strategies that support the growth of the Burn Care franchise.
• An advanced clinical or scientific degree is required: MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA, DNP, or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Medical Affairs, including substantial field Medical Science Liaison experience.
• Prior leadership or management experience overseeing field-based medical teams.
• Expertise in burn care, wound care, surgery, regenerative medicine, cell therapy, or related therapeutic areas.
• Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs regulations, scientific exchange, and compliant interactions with healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in leadership, coaching, communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed field medical teams is preferred.
• Background in regenerative medicine, biologics, or advanced therapies is preferred.
• Familiarity with Veeva CRM and Medical Affairs analytics is preferred.
• Proven success in leading cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change is preferred.
• This is a remote field-based position within the United States.
• Willingness to travel up to 60%, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
• Must reside within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain hospital credentialing.
• Willingness to attend surgical procedures and scientific meetings is necessary.
• Ability to lift and transport educational materials, instrument trays, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

• Commission-based compensation with an expected target range of $185,000 to $195,000.
• Additional benefits may include bonus, incentive pay, equity, and other benefits beyond the base compensation mentioned above.
