Manager, Indirect Procurement Category

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies specific to categories that align with business goals and market dynamics.

• Conduct spend analyses to uncover savings opportunities and potential for consolidation.

• Lead competitive bidding endeavors, including the creation of RFPs/RFQs, supplier assessment, and contract negotiations.

• Create and maintain category roadmaps that include timelines, milestones, and success metrics.

• Keep abreast of market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies.

• Establish and nurture strategic relationships with suppliers.

• Perform supplier performance evaluations and execute improvement plans.

• Identify and cultivate new supplier partnerships.

• Manage supplier risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

• Organize supplier innovation workshops and collaborative improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across logistics, marketing, professional services, facilities, and HR.

• Translate business needs into procurement specifications and sourcing strategies.

• Provide procurement expertise and advice to inform business decisions.

• Relay category performance, market insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Negotiate terms and conditions to optimize the total cost of ownership and minimize risk.

• Develop and oversee category budgets while tracking actual versus planned expenditures.

• Launch cost management initiatives and monitor savings.

• Ensure compliance with contracts and manage renewals and amendments.

• Assist with accounts payable resolutions and supplier payment processes.

• Foster continuous improvements in procurement processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards.

• Implement procurement best practices and support enhancements in procurement systems and technology.

• Contribute to the development and standardization of procurement policies.

• Complete compliance training and any other assigned educational programs.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• May be involved in selecting and hiring analysts, providing onboarding and training, setting expectations, monitoring performance, coaching employees, and establishing goals for direct reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, procurement, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Required five (5) years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.

• Preferred two (2) years of experience in healthcare, specifically in HME.

• Preferred industry-recognized certification such as APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent.

• A valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence is required.

• Knowledge of industry-specific products and services.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong presentation skills.

• Above-average critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in negotiating pricing while fostering positive vendor relationships.

• Skilled in conflict management and maintaining constructive working relationships.

• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and remain effective under pressure and changing circumstances.

• Proven track record of cost savings from continuous improvement efforts.

• Experience in providing visible leadership to operational teams.

• Capability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.

• Effective communication with both internal and external customers and suppliers is essential.

• Must uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program.
