This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Lead a team of software engineers by providing mentorship and performance evaluations.
• Supervise the development and execution of software projects that align with the organization's goals.
• Work closely with product management and other departments to incorporate software features.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold best practices in software development.
• Track project timelines and eliminate any barriers that hinder progress.
• Support the recruitment and onboarding process for new team members.
• Guide and cultivate engineering talent within the team.
• Direct a full-stack team focused on building front-end applications using React and TypeScript, along with Python and FastAPI services.
• Create production-ready code, design APIs, and review architectural decisions across the entire stack.
• Establish and maintain the benchmark for AI-assisted development, which includes managing repository instructions for agents and overseeing automated pull request reviews.
• Be responsible for the CI quality gate and the promotion process through development, UAT, and production.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in building and maintaining production software, including web applications and backend services.
• At least 4 years of experience mentoring and developing junior and mid-level software engineers.
• Minimum of 4 years in team management and project delivery.
• Strong engineering expertise focused on distributed systems and service integration.
• Capability to set, monitor, manage, and interpret business KPIs for leadership purposes.
• Practical experience with Python and FastAPI, as well as React and TypeScript, sufficient to review full-stack modifications.
• Daily hands-on use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar technologies.
• Ability to discern when to trust, verify, or override outputs from AI coding agents.
• Experience in leading engineers across various time zones.
• Physical ability to operate computer equipment, communicate verbally, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs.
