This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of engineers to deliver safe, utility-scale engineering designs for wind projects from project award to closeout.

• Coach, train, and mentor engineering personnel; establish clear objectives and metrics.

• Supervise engineering deliverables, project priorities, schedules, and budgets throughout the portfolio.

• Manage the complete engineering lifecycle from pre-construction estimating and bid-phase design to project award, design delivery, construction support, and closeout.

• Provide cost-effective designs that meet power plant design specifications.

• Collaborate with various company departments, vendors, and external engineering firms to enhance safety, cost-efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

• Ensure engineering design practices adhere to Owner, Company, state, and federal safety regulations.

• Offer guidance to Lead Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Engineer I/II staff.

• Assist in the technical review and vetting of equipment, products, and materials; coordinate approvals with Supply Chain, Estimating, and Construction teams.

• Promote design consistency across projects, Owners, and the department.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to identify and communicate resource requirements and balance workloads among projects and business units.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or relevant equivalent industry experience, is required.

• A Professional Engineering (PE) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent credential is necessary and must be obtained within one year of hiring if not already possessed.

• A minimum of seven years of progressive engineering experience in the energy or construction sector, including proven leadership experience.

• A valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR) are required.

• This position is expected to require travel up to 50% of the time, subject to changes based on project and business demands.

• Strong comprehension of utility-scale wind project engineering and the engineering lifecycle from project award to closeout.

• Capability to balance the three core priorities of People, Projects, and Processes while keeping teams focused on successful project outcomes.

• Experience in setting team objectives and utilizing relevant metrics to promote accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
