This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Oversee the worldwide localization program for medical device documentation.

• Guide Localization Project Managers on best practices in localization, project management methodologies, and company culture.

• Develop and implement multiple complex localization project plans simultaneously.

• Stay informed about medical device products, localization industries, regulatory and linguistic standards, as well as documentation best practices.

• Update and manage documentation localization process documents.

• Establish and uphold departmental policies and procedures.

• Identify localization initiatives, create annual budgets, and set project priorities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Oversee communications, expectations, and relationships with various departments and strategic partners.

• Act as the department's representative on cross-functional teams.

• Assist project managers in defining quality and risk, and in resolving or escalating project challenges.

• Manage relationships with language service providers, including conducting quarterly business reviews.

• Handle resources for linguists and reviewers, which includes recruitment, retention, and dismissal processes.

• Lead post-project evaluations, document and share lessons learned, and drive improvements.

• Provide advice to internal customers and strategic partners on best practices for localization and internationalization.

• Administer content within a content management system.

• Collaborate with XML/DITA, create output mechanisms, analyze system workflows, and recommend enhancements.

• Manage translation memories and establish related best practices.

• Promote early involvement in localization and safeguard reasonable project timelines.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform essential job functions may be accepted.

• At least 4 years of experience in project and people management.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in localization within a regulated environment.

• Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.

• Understanding of project management disciplines, methodologies, and localization tools.

• Successful execution of global localization projects involving stakeholders from North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

• Experience collaborating with individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

• Familiarity with various localization vendors.

• Strong proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and disciplines.

• Experience with content management systems.

• Capability to independently lead and manage multiple large-scale projects and teams.

• Proficient in computer-aided translation tools and other relevant localization software and technologies.

• Ability to maintain regular communication and interactions with language service providers, covering selection, project specifications, negotiations, and quality checks.

• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.

• Ability to incorporate subject matter expertise to create project plans.

• Skill in quickly identifying and resolving conflicts.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge and effective utilization of relevant software applications, including project management tools such as Microsoft Project.

• Project management professional certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.

• Localization project management certification is preferred.

• Equivalent competency gained through a combination of these qualifications may also be considered.

• Must pass pre-employment substance abuse testing and undergo detailed background verification.
