This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Oversee the preparation process for MCW’s annual budget cycle, which includes configuring systems, developing calendars, and documenting budget entries.
• Provide budgetary support for intricate departments that operate with multiple missions or lines of business.
• Supervise and guide financial analysts who assist various other departments.
• Act as the main contact and escalation point for any budgetary inquiries and issues.
• Analyze and report on business trends that impact financial outcomes.
• Direct special financial analyses, such as cost-saving initiatives, reimbursement modeling, and evaluating service-line profitability.
• Delegate and review the work of the analyst team to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
• Collaborate with departments to devise solutions for cost reduction and revenue optimization.
• Assess and analyze both annual and ad hoc budget submissions, providing recommendations as necessary.
• Offer support, training, and guidance regarding the departmental budgetary system.
• Address discrepancies between budget and finance information, escalating issues as needed.
• Monitor the success of initiatives and suggest improvements.
• Oversee enhancements of financial planning and analysis systems and processes.
• Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts.
• Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of education on a comparable basis.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• A background in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field is mandatory.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• Capability to deliver results in a complex matrix organization through effective task assignment, resource allocation, barrier resolution, problem-solving, and escalation.
• Aptitude for critical listening to formulate solutions valued by operational end users.
• Openness to understanding systems and applications that support business processes.
• Ability to effectively communicate business processes and requirements to technical IT/IS personnel.
• Familiarity with infrastructure setup and how different components are interconnected.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Meticulous attention to detail while integrating the overall perspective.
• Capability to efficiently manage others.
