Manager, External Audit Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Manage and supervise the coordination of regulatory audits, examinations, and oversight activities for a regional portfolio of Medicaid health plans in the West Region.

• Lead a team of audit coordinators who support regulatory audits and examinations.

• Oversee audit readiness, coordination, documentation management, and stakeholder engagement across designated markets.

• Collaborate with health plan leadership, Operations, Compliance, and business subject matter experts throughout the audit lifecycle.

• Monitor audit timelines, deliverables, risks, and escalation items.

• Present updates on audit status, risks, trends, and outcomes to leadership audiences.

• Promote adherence to audit management processes and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Assist in developing audit strategies, documenting lessons learned, and fostering knowledge-sharing practices across markets.

• Mentor and develop team members while ensuring balanced workloads and effective resource allocation.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Adhere to all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Compliance, Law, or a related field; or equivalent experience required.

• A minimum of 4 years of Compliance experience, preferably in a healthcare setting; or equivalent experience gained through relevant knowledge, duties, scope, and skill required.

• At least 2 years of experience in Medicaid, Medicare, or Commercial Managed Care is required.

• Prior experience effectively interacting with federal and state regulatory agencies in a managed care or insurance environment is preferred.

• A Master's Degree is preferred.

• Juris Doctor (JD) is also preferred.

• Must be available to work during Pacific Time business hours.

• Willingness to travel as necessary for business purposes.
