This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.
• Act as a champion and role model, integrating Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we expand globally and establish new offices.
• Recruit, nurture, and lead a diverse, engaged, and high-performing Sales Engineering team.
• Oversee both individual and team performance, ensuring our collaboration with sales, product, support, and customer success teams is effective and productive.
• Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers on account planning, strategy development, and sales call initiatives.
• Handle escalations (product issues, feature requests, etc.) within a pre-sales context.
• Engage in customer/prospect calls as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with other Sales Engineering leaders to enhance the overall Sales Engineering organization at Samsara.
• Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized four-year university.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in hands-on engineering, pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support roles.
• More than 2 years of experience in sales engineering management.
• Familiarity with Software Product sales, including Infrastructure and SaaS.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: IoT, Networking/Security, SaaS, Cloud Technologies, or Physical Security.
• Strong technical knowledge combined with business acumen.
• Exceptional communication, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, from sales, product, marketing, support, and customer success teams to individual contributors and executive team members across the organization.
• Proven leadership skills, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Outstanding presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.
