This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps engineers — overseeing hiring, career advancement, performance management, and the day-to-day operations that enhance team effectiveness.
• Take responsibility for the reliability, performance, and cost management of our AWS and Azure production environments supporting our SaaS offerings.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to convert roadmap objectives into actionable infrastructure and deployment strategies.
• Establish the technical vision for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and incident response — driving continuous enhancements across all areas.
• Advance the team’s ITIL-aligned service management practices, which include on-call duties, change management, and post-incident reviews.
• Work alongside the Security team to integrate compliance standards (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, HIPAA) into our development and operational processes.
• Oversee FinOps for your environment: track expenditures, promote cost efficiency, and project cloud costs in relation to the roadmap.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for critical production services.
• Define clear objectives for both the team and individual members, providing transparent communication about progress, tradeoffs, and decisions to engineers, peers, and executives.
• Over 10 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or DevOps engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership or management role.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing production workloads on AWS and Azure, including cloud networking (VPC/VNet, private connectivity, DNS), compute resources, storage solutions, and identity and access management.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code — Terraform is essential, with CloudFormation or Bicep being advantageous — as well as proficiency in one or more configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt).
• Demonstrated ownership of CI/CD pipelines at scale, including tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and modern Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language for automation (Python is preferred; Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby are also acceptable).
• Experience in designing and operating systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and backup and retention on cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with containerized workloads and Kubernetes orchestration (EKS, AKS, or self-managed clusters).
• Practical knowledge of modern observability practices — including metrics, logs, traces, SLIs and SLOs, and alert design; experience with DataDog is a strong advantage.
• Understanding of cloud security fundamentals across AWS and Azure: WAF, threat detection (GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud), vulnerability management, endpoint protection, CSPM tools, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — capable of articulating complex trade-offs to both engineers and executives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Flexible work hours and remote work options.
• Opportunities for professional development and training.
• A collaborative and innovative work environment.
