Manager, Data Engineering

📋 Description

• Provide well-structured, robust datasets for various requests, projects, professionals, and clients.

• Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure revenue models are accurate, maintain their definitions amidst upstream changes, and are verifiable.

• Work alongside the Supply Acquisition and Business Platforms teams on their respective roadmaps.

• Enhance the reliability of core pipelines through dbt tests, continuous integration, anomaly detection, and well-defined contracts.

• Recruit and develop mid-level and senior data engineers.

• Cultivate technical leaders who can manage a domain comprehensively from start to finish.

• Establish engineering standards for review processes, testing protocols, and prioritization methods.

• Make informed modeling and architecture decisions and advocate for them in a technical leadership role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience managing engineering teams, or a background as a tech lead ready to transition into first-line management.

• More than 6 years of experience in developing data or software systems for production environments.

• Proficiency in SQL along with dimensional and event modeling, coupled with familiarity in Python.

• Proven experience managing datasets that are critical for other teams, with a strong emphasis on testing, contracts, and versioning discipline.

• A solid track record of converting ambiguous business inquiries into reliable models and clearly defined metrics.

• Excellent collaboration skills and strong written communication abilities.
