Manager, Data Engineering – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the data engineering team and manage the development of strategic insights related to IT architecture and business requirements.

• Create and execute data architecture and engineering strategies that utilize AI.

• Design templates, reference architectures, and models for contemporary data engineering pipelines that link on-premises and cloud data sources.

• Collaborate with Architecture and Product teams to shape data product strategy and enhance data literacy.

• Keep abreast of AI trends and integrate relevant innovations to boost team efficiency, productivity, and architectural significance.

• Engage with internal stakeholders and represent the organization in client discussions as necessary.

• Assess staff performance and promote professional growth through goal-setting, coaching, evaluation, and mentoring.

• Make IT decisions within your area of responsibility and streamline service costs by utilizing both internal and external resources.

• Ensure that information systems and networks adhere to HIPAA regulations, internal standards, accrediting agency guidelines, regulatory obligations, and legal requirements.

• Develop, implement, test, and update disaster recovery, emergency operations, backup, physical security, personnel security, and access plans.

• Recruit, develop, mentor, lead, and retain talent while fostering a high-performing team culture.

• Fulfill annual performance review or goal-setting duties and manage assigned special projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 7 years of comprehensive experience in data engineering, IT, or project management, including a minimum of 2 years in a management role.

• At least 2 years of experience leading small to mid-size projects using project management methodologies and tools.

• More than 4 years of experience working with data sets, Hadoop, Spark, and/or data integration/ETL tools such as Databricks, AWS tech stack, and Snowflake.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in AI engineering concepts and tools, including RAG, Prompt Engineering, LangChain, and LangGraph.

• Knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps capabilities and tools such as DataRobot.

• At least 2 years of practical experience in software development and database management.

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Capability to provide a secure and dedicated work environment.

• Ability to ensure high-speed internet access/connectivity along with necessary office setup and maintenance.

• Must be capable of performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Preferred: Experience with healthcare data, ideally in a data operations capacity.

• Preferred: Experience in an Agile work environment.
