This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +4 more states.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of Clinical Application Analysts and Specialists.
• Set departmental objectives, performance standards, and plans for professional growth.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, workload prioritization, and budget management.
• Supervise the implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and support of clinical applications including EHR, LIS, RIS, pharmacy systems, and other clinical technologies.
• Create and sustain application roadmaps that align with the organization's strategy.
• Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.
• Coordinate application upgrades, patches, testing, and releases.
• Manage application lifecycle planning and vendor relationships.
• Lead cross-functional projects for implementation and optimization.
• Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, ancillary departments, and operational leaders to enhance workflows through technology.
• Analyze clinical processes and suggest enhancements to applications.
• Ensure compliance of clinical applications with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and relevant state and federal regulations.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives related to clinical systems.
• Develop policies, procedures, and documentation for application governance.
• Participate in audits, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity efforts.
• Act as the primary contact for clinical application vendors.
• Manage vendor performance, contracts, issue resolution, and service level agreements.
• Evaluate new technologies and software solutions.
• Coordinate third-party integrations with enterprise systems.
• Support organizational change management initiatives.
• Work with education teams to create user training programs.
• Ensure effective communication regarding system changes and upgrades.
• Monitor application performance metrics and key performance indicators.
• Prepare reports for executive leadership on application utilization, support metrics, and project status.
• Leverage data to identify opportunities for improvement and measure outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, information technology, computer science, nursing informatics, or related fields.
• 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare technology, clinical systems, or interoperability.
• A minimum of 3 years managing enterprise healthcare technology teams.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards and integration architectures, including HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCDA, and API-based integration.
• Proven experience leading large-scale clinical technology implementations, optimizations, and interoperability initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and enterprise technology contracts.
• Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives in complex, multi-entity healthcare environments.
• Technical expertise in healthcare information systems, application architecture, interfaces, databases, and system integrations.
• Working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, DICOM, CCD/C-CDA, and interface engines.
• Understanding of Active Directory, identity and access management, SSO, role-based security, and user provisioning.
• Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, dashboards, and data analytics.
• Knowledge of cloud-based and on-premises application environments, virtualization, and infrastructure dependencies.
• Understanding of ITIL, change management, release management, and incident/problem management processes.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, logs, and system performance metrics for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of APIs, web services, and application integration methodologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and HIPAA security requirements.
• Preferred: advanced degree in health informatics, healthcare administration, information technology, or equivalent.
• Preferred: PMP, CPHIMS, or CHDA certification.
• Base salary range of $103,043.00 to $162,698.00.
