Manager, AI Products, GIS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create AI-driven applications, tools, and workflow automation utilizing LLMs, APIs, RAG, agentic AI, MCP, and associated technologies.

• Design and evaluate prototypes/MVPs, then transition successful models into secure, production-ready applications.

• Provide daily leadership for JSI's GIS technology, data management, and workflows.

• Recognize opportunities to automate GIS/broadband engineering workflows.

• Assist the CTO in transforming technology strategy into actionable product initiatives, including roadmaps and business cases.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, GIS experts, engineers, consultants, and external technology partners/vendors.

• Ensure that applications are well-designed, secure, thoroughly documented, and maintainable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, GIS, data science, or a related area (or equivalent experience).

• Over 3 years of experience in software development, GIS, product development, or related technical fields.

• Experience in converting business needs into technical solutions.

• Proficient understanding of APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and contemporary application architecture.

• Familiarity with GIS platforms, geospatial data, or spatial analysis.

• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.

• Preferred: Experience with AI-enhanced development, LLMs, generative AI, RAG, or AI agents.

• Preferred: Skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or SQL.

• Preferred: Experience with Esri, ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, or similar tools.

• Preferred: Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud; knowledge of Git/CI/CD practices.

• Preferred: Background in telecommunications, broadband, or fiber network infrastructure.

• Preferred: Experience in product/project management from MVP to production.
