This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Create, develop, test, and oversee ingestion pipelines for operational and geospatial data sources.
• Construct transformations that link source datasets with standardized geographic and road-network references.
• Execute and uphold geospatial data models and transformations using BigQuery.
• Engage with GIS and ArcGIS-based datasets, which include geometry and location-referencing data.
• Formulate ingestion patterns for REST APIs, data feeds, sensor inputs, and external sources.
• Establish automated validation and data-quality controls across all pipelines.
• Resolve data inconsistencies, transformation challenges, and integration defects.
• Assist in integration testing, data-quality assessment, and defect resolution during system acceptance.
• Generate technical documentation and maintainable code adhering to engineering standards.
• Collaborate with data, application, platform, and other engineering teams within a distributed delivery framework.
• Take part in code reviews, technical discussions, ticketed assignments, and structured delivery practices.
• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools judiciously for development, testing, and troubleshooting purposes.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or comparable roles.
• Proficient production experience with Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow.
• Expertise in designing, constructing, and sustaining ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-based data transformations.
• Practical experience with geospatial and GIS data.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS or similar enterprise GIS technologies.
• Knowledge of Linear Referencing Systems, road-network data, route segmentation, or similar linear geospatial models.
• Proficient in GeoJSON, geometry/geography data types, spatial transformations, and spatial SQL.
• Experience in integrating REST APIs, operational feeds, and third-party data sources.
• Strong understanding of relational and analytical data modeling principles.
• Experience in implementing automated data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality controls.
• Solid practices in testing and technical documentation.
• Proficient with Git and collaborative software development processes.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capability to maintain a minimum of four hours of daily overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
