This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Assist in rural fiber projects by developing, modifying, and sustaining GIS designs.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure mapping tasks are completed accurately and punctually.
• Update and maintain GIS fiber network data using ArcGIS Pro and QGIS, integrating field audits, as-builts, and construction drawings.
• Digitally create and amend vector data in accordance with project-specific standards.
• Generate basic network maps and reports to support planning, permitting, and engineering stages.
• Adapt and customize geospatial data from public sources and various formats to meet project requirements.
• Utilize geoprocessing tools and conduct QC/QA checks to guarantee data integrity and topological accuracy.
• Work alongside engineers, project managers, and GIS teams to meet project deadlines and uphold JSI standards.
• 1–3+ years of experience in GIS.
• Certificate or degree in GIS, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
