This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.
• Oversee the daily pricing operations.
• Manage the rate indication process for home and auto, including quarterly revisions and associated communications.
• Implement the annual rate strategy across all states and lines of business.
• Collaborate with Product to maintain a filing calendar.
• Prepare filing materials for the Product team and oversee communication until approval is obtained.
• Investigate and create new rating-plan segmentation, including the development of models.
• Provide pricing recommendations supported by evidence.
• Enhance and sustain pricing methodologies and rate adequacy across various business lines.
• Establish and uphold actuarial policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Optimize actuarial systems, tools, and processes.
• Assist with catastrophe-load and other analyses related to reinsurance that inform pricing strategies.
• Perform financial and economic analyses to support underwriting strategy, profitability evaluations, and planning.
• Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, and Finance on actuarial inquiries and cross-departmental decisions.
• Convey complex actuarial insights to non-technical audiences, senior management, and external stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor a team of actuarial professionals, focusing on performance management, career development, and team capacity building.
• Report to the [Reporting Title].
• At minimum, an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS); FCAS is welcome but not mandatory.
• Generally, 6+ years of progressively responsible actuarial experience.
• Experience overseeing at least one direct report.
• Extensive technical knowledge in P&C actuarial pricing methodologies, pricing trend analysis, segmentation, and predictive modeling.
• Proven history of advancing an indication to a filed rate adjustment.
• Experience enhancing actuarial processes, controls, or operating workflows in a growing environment.
• Proficiency in R for ad hoc analysis.
• A commitment to validating data prior to disseminating results.
• Familiarity with off-the-shelf model-building platforms is advantageous; prior experience with Akur8 is not a requirement.
• Exposure to catastrophe risk is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to articulate technical conclusions to senior leadership, regulators, and cross-functional teams.
• Capable of working independently and responsibly in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
