This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct analyses utilizing spreadsheets, databases, and various resources to clean, synthesize, and interpret data and information.
• Present findings to colleagues and project managers.
• Evaluate the work produced by peers.
• Organize and document project files.
• Contribute to research and business development initiatives.
• Engage with healthcare data using an array of software applications.
• Acquire extensive real-world experiences and insight into the operations of consultants within the health actuarial practice.
• Currently enrolled and planning to return to, or have recently graduated from, an accredited university, or transitioning careers to the actuarial field.
• Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, or another quantitative major.
• Minimum of one Society of Actuaries exam successfully completed.
• Strong grasp of fundamental actuarial principles.
• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts both verbally and in writing to varied audiences.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Inquisitive nature.
• Keen desire to acquire knowledge.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Quick learner with the ability to grasp existing processes promptly.
• Proficient in applying knowledge and concepts across diverse tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.
• Previous internships in health and/or actuarial-related fields are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with programming languages (R, SAS, SQL, Python, VBA) is advantageous but not essential.
• Preference for candidates with junior or senior standing, or recent graduates, though not mandatory.
