ManageEngine Consultant, Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the existing ManageEngine environment (Endpoint Central and associated modules) for the macOS fleet to identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies.

• Provide guidance on macOS application deployment strategies, including standards for PKG/DMG packaging, silent-install practices, deployment policies, and staged/phased rollouts.

• Suggest best practices for scheduling macOS patches and OS updates, ensuring compliance within Endpoint Central.

• Assist in troubleshooting persistent or complex macOS deployment issues, such as agent connectivity problems, package errors, and dependency conflicts.

• Offer advice on the structure of software repositories/catalogs, version control, and lifecycle management.

• Make recommendations regarding reporting, dashboards, and compliance monitoring for deployment and patch statuses.

• Guide the integration of Endpoint Central with MDM, ITSM, and security systems.

• Review and suggest enhancements to deployment documentation and runbooks.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide light coaching to internal IT personnel.

• Engage in regular strategy or check-in calls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in administering and architecting ManageEngine solutions, especially Endpoint Central (Desktop Central), in production settings.

• Proven expertise in macOS application packaging and deployment utilizing PKG and DMG, including large-scale silent-install methodologies.

• Strong comprehension of macOS endpoint and patch management practices.

• Demonstrated history of advising or consulting organizations on ManageEngine strategy, extending beyond routine administration.

• Capability to convert technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for IT staff and leadership.

• Comfortable functioning in a short-term or part-time advisory role alongside an internal IT team.

• Endpoint Central certification or an equivalent vendor credential is preferred.

• Previous consulting/advisory experience with mid-sized or enterprise IT teams is preferred.

• Experience integrating ManageEngine with MDM platforms such as Jamf, Intune, or Kandji is preferred.

• Familiarity with IT asset management and software license compliance practices is preferred.

• Background in Bash/zsh scripting for advising on macOS automation opportunities is preferred.
